GEORGE’S POWER BREAKFAST
Healthy, good food is the best preventative medicine, and the best health insurance policy. After many requests by many people I am going to reveal my secret recipe for George’s Power Breakfast Shake. I’ve been eating it for breakfast exclusively for about 15 years.
Many scientific studies have proven that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. This is how you start your day and this is how you fuel your body for the day. So here it is – the actual recipe of what I eat for breakfast every day of the year:
1.5 cups of Wyman’s frozen wild Maine blueberries (flash-frozen to preserve all vitamins and nutrients);
½ cup of Wyman’s frozen strawberries (again, flash-freezing locks in nutrients);
One fresh organic banana;
Two cups of Silk Light Original Vanilla Soy Milk (I don’t like dairy products that may be contaminated with hormones and additives);
One scoop of Vanilla Pro Complex Protein Powder. Get it from the GNC store at the Bangor Mall or online –this is a premium product worth the price. (Click here for more information);
One scoop of GNC Men’s (Or Women’s) Mega Sport Performance Vitamin Powder (also vanilla flavor). This supplement is loaded with a high dose of crucial vitamins and trace minerals.(Click here for more information);
Three tablespoons of Equate Unflavored Daily Fiber (The active ingredient per teaspoon is 3.4 grams of psyllium hydrophilic mucilloid – available at Wal-Mart for about $10 per can).
Put these ingredients in a blender, mix on the liquefy setting for about 90 seconds, and you are ready to enjoy the most powerful, healthy and effective breakfast available in the entire world!
Good News: You don't need to be a billionaire to enjoy this shake. Yes, it’s not cheap. But tell yourself that you’re worth it. What’s the cost of bad health? Health comes first, ahead of everything. Nothing else has value, not even vast amounts of money, if you don’t have good health.
After I finish my shake I take one triple-strength fish oil pill from GNC (guaranteed to be free of mercury and other heavy-metal contaminants) and one low-dose 81 mg aspirin. These supplements are best absorbed with food. I also drink freshly ground coffee that is 90% decaf and 10% caffeinated (Starbucks coffee brewed with Poland Spring water.) Beware of ‘distilled water’ that is just tap water which has been processed. Nothing beats natural spring water.
My second cup of coffee is mixed with Cocoa Via- a powerful dark chocolate extract sold by Mars, Inc. that contains zero fat, almost no calories and no sugar. Dark chocolate is a fantastic source of flavonoids that improve blood circulation to the brain and body and also enhance skin health. See:

Regular coffee consumption has been shown to reduce the risk of Parkinson’s disease and liver cancer. It’s important to find the right balance between caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee. See:
These are the major reasons why George’s Power Breakfast is the best in the world:
(1) Amino Acids Build Muscle
The amino acid profile offered by the Pro Complex protein powder is outstanding. This amazing product offers key amino acids that help build and maintain muscle mass: Tryptophan, Valine, Threonine, Isoleucine, Leucine, Phenylalanine, Methionine, Arginine, Cystine, Tyrosine, Histidine, Proline, Glutamine, Aspartic Acid, Serine, Glycine, Alanine. Amino acids help build, restore and maintain muscle. If you exercise regularly you must eat a regular supply of amino acids. The Pro Complex powder also has some of the highest quality protein available (approximately 30 grams.) See:
(2) Sunlight and Vitamin D
Mainer’s need extra vitamin D. Normally vitamin D is obtained from exposure to sunlight. Here in Maine, especially in the winter months, we don’t get much sunlight. So artificial supplementation is essential. One scoop of the GNC vitamin powder has 35% of the daily requirement for vitamin D.
Vitamin D has been scientifically proven to reduce the risk of colon cancer. See:
(3) George’s Power Breakfast Facilitates a Great Subsequent Workout
Whether you run on a treadmill as I do, jog, lift weights, or just have a busy and physically demanding morning routine, George’s Breakfast Shake will empower you to soar instead of crawl.
(4) Muscle is the Best Defense of Bone
As we all get older the risk of damage from falls grows. Gravity pulls down at 32.2 feet per second squared. The best defense of bone is muscle. Maintain lean muscle mass and you will preserve the strength to survive a fall with minimal damage. Amino acids and regular exercise help with this.
Physical exercise involves deliberately hurting the body and damaging muscles. The body over-reacts by re-building muscles and over-compensating for injuries caused by intense physical exercise (a process called hormesis – click here for a comprehensive definition.)
(5) Calcium Supplementation
The GNC powder (Men’s version) combined with Silk Soy Milk contain a combined total of 45% of the required daily amount for calcium. Calcium is a metal. Our skeletons are built from metallic calcium. Pre-menopausal women need about twice as much calcium as men. Calcium is important. Get it or suffer the consequences, which include frailty and brittle, easily broken bones characteristic of osteoporosis.
(6) Fish Oil Helps the Brain and Heart
High quality fish oil has been proven to improve brain function and minimize the risk of heart disease. It is important to buy quality fish oil that is certified to be free of mercury and other heavy metal contaminants. Beware of cheap products from China. See:
(7) Aspirin Stops 911 Calls
Low dose aspirin (81 mg) improves blood circulation, and reduces the risk of heart attack, stroke, liver and colon cancer. It is not for everyone however. See:
(8) Blueberries Improve Brain Function
Several scientific studies have shown that the powerful anti-oxidants in wild blueberries improve brain function and cognitive health. Wild blueberries contain some of the most powerful anti-oxidant compounds available including phytonutrients, anthrocyanadins, resveratrol, flavonols, tannins, and other anti-aging and anti-cancer nutrients. Wild blueberries are a super-fruit. See:

(9) Guilt-Free Dark Chocolate May Save Your Life
The powerful flavonols in Cocoa-Via Dark Chocolate supplement (it’s a powder you can add to coffee or any drink) intensely improve blood circulation and may prevent heart attacks and strokes, while enhancing mental function and skin health. I receive a monthly delivery of Cocoa-Via from Mars, Inc. and add it to my coffee. See:
(10) Liquid Nutrition is Quickly Absorbed
Unlike solid food, liquid nutrition (and embedded supplements) is quickly absorbed by the gastrointestinal tract.
(11) Low Glucose = No Sugar Crash
This shake contains a very small amount of glucose, which is a quickly absorbed sugar that peaks in the bloodstream and then falls, producing the phenomenon of a sugar crash with resulting fatigue and hunger. My shake is loaded with fructose, a different kind of sugar that is absorbed far more slowly. The high fiber and high protein content produce long lasting energy. Insoluble fiber is the best kind and helps to keep arteries clear and maintain cardiovascular health. See:
(12) Convenience
It would be a pain in the neck to try to eat each of these great ingredients separately. I use my morning breakfast shake as a platform to deliver key nutrients and vitamins all at once in the most digestible form.
For the record, I’ve written these comments with no compensation of any kind from the sources and companies cited here. I truly believe my breakfast shake is the best in the world based on extensive research.
Here is a picture of my shake immediately before blending:
Bon Appetit!
